Stag & Weekend Party Ideas For Newcastle.

Newcastle upon Tyne is probably among the top destinations for UK stag weekends – with a vast array of bars, clubs and pubs and even casinos around Bigg Market and Quayside, and Newcastle hotels from Travelodge, you’re on a firm footing for a weekend to remember with plenty of drinks flowing freely.

Newcastle is a welcoming city with a fantastic atmosphere; those Geordies know how to have a great night, and you’ll be sure to have one of them. Stag do’s can’t just be about the drink though – for something truly memorable, you’ve got to have some daytime activities for the lads to enjoy.

If you’re like millions of the UK and love football, why not hire a football pitch and have a competitive 5- or 7-a-side match to get you pumped for a night on the city. There are many football pitches around Newcastle you can hire, and the city council website lists a broad selection of various pitch sizes. For a stag weekend of mostly footie addicts, this is simply a must, and of course it’s great exercise and really healthy.

Another healthy option is paintballing or airsoft. Everyone’s heard of paintballing and there’s several sites in and around Newcastle, but airsoft is where the real fun is. Airsoft is a sport similar to paintballing except you are brandishing replica firearms that fire 6mm plastic pellets. The intention is to give a more immersive environment that is more realistic than paintball and closer to real-world combat.

Typically games would last all day and you’ll cover plenty of ground to work up a thirst for your night out. If you’d rather something not so competitive, perhaps one of the clay pigeon shooting sites in the area might interest you. Clay target shooting is a bit more laid back than paintball or airsoft – and it’s quick to pick up even for novices.

For those who are into driving sports there are plenty of options too. There’s quite a few quad biking locations not too far outside the city, and for those who haven’t been, it’s a real thrill. You’ll quickly learn to ride these nippy little quad bikes in no time and be taking on challenging terrain such as rivers, hills and dunes.

Prepare to get very mucky though, the bikes kick up a load of dirt and not all of it is caught by the mud guards. If you prefer something a bit cleaner, why not go for a two hour go karting session. Formula 1 indoor karting offers an ideal stag party package with trophies, digital timing, pit stops and commentary that makes for an exhilarating and competitive race.

There’s plenty more options to choose from for when organising a stag party in Newcastle though, and of course the focus is on the stag.

Make sure you book an event that you know he’ll enjoy and the evening entertainment will take care of itself. If you really want to go all out on your stag, there are a few gentlemen clubs around too, or if you prefer to keep things booze-only then make sure you’ve got your evenings booked, perhaps with a VIP room in one of the many Quayside nightclubs.
